Every licensed economy, ranked by the latest quarter. Click a country in the list or the chart legend to show or hide it. Country desks cover a smaller set.
Year-over-year change compares a house price index with its value in the same quarter one year earlier: (current index / index four quarters earlier − 1) × 100. Younivi calculates it from the published index. It is a derived percentage, not an official growth series; an agency's own rate can differ because of its methods or rounding.
Use the rate to judge the direction and pace of change over a year. Comparing the same quarter reduces seasonal effects, and percentages can be compared more meaningfully across economies than raw index levels. A negative value means the index is below the same quarter last year; the rate alone does not show when the decline began or how far the index is from its peak.
One year is a short window. Sources can revise past quarters, and a small revision can change the sign of a rate near zero. The result inherits the coverage and method of its underlying index, including any Australian ABS mean-price fallback. It describes a broad trend, not the value of a home or a forecast.
